The Sugamo Otori Shrine Shopping Street, located in Toshima, Tokyo, is currently hosting the delightful 'Sugamo Card Collection' event, set to run until March 31, 2023. The shopping street has recently been revitalized, merging two local merchant associations into one vibrant community focused on promoting a new identity as a 'Child-Rearing Town' due to the historical significance of the Sugamo Otori Shrine and the Kosodate Inari Shrine.

This exciting event encourages visitors to explore the various shops in the area, sparking economic life and inviting more foot traffic to the shopping street. Here’s how you can participate and collect unique cards!

How to Play the Sugamo Card Collection

Step 1: The adventure begins by visiting one of the participating shops on the shopping street. Enjoy shopping, and while you’re there, don’t forget to scan the QR code displayed on a panel in the store with your smartphone. You can even play without making a purchase!

Step 2: Once scanned, you’ll see a virtual gacha machine pop up on your screen. Tap its icon to spin and see which card you’ll receive.

Step 3: Each spin will reward you with a randomly selected original card from the store! Additionally, you can ask store personnel for a sticker that features the same design as your card by saying, 'Can I have a sticker, please?' Note that stickers are available in limited quantities, so make sure to ask quickly!

Collect All 20 Unique Cards!

There are 10 participating shops, and each shop offers two types of cards, totaling 20 unique cards to collect! If you manage to complete your collection, you can earn a special secret card as a reward.

To complete your collection, don’t forget to visit the Sugamo Otori Shrine, where you can ask staff for your secret card after your collection is complete. Plus, you can easily share your card data with friends by utilizing the sharing features available. Just press the share button when you see your card screen, and a QR code will appear for your friends to scan.
