Huntington Bank Opens its First Carolinas Branch in Spartanburg
Huntington National Bank has made a significant advancement in its expansion strategy by launching its first branch in the Carolinas at 172 East Main Street, Spartanburg. The full-service facility is poised to provide a range of banking services including tellers, personal and private banking, and ATM access, commencing operations to cater to customer needs.
Brant Standridge, President of Consumer and Regional Banking at Huntington, expressed excitement regarding the enthusiastic reception from both customers and the local community. The opening of this branch signifies an extension of Huntington's presence in the Carolinas, consolidating its success from prior commercial expansions in the region. Standridge highlighted the bank’s commitment to delivering a comprehensive suite of products including personal, wealth, business, and commercial banking services to residents and businesses across both North and South Carolina.
This Spartanburg opening does not stand alone but is the first step in a broader strategy to enhance Huntington’s footprint in the Carolinas. Over the next three years, the bank aims to establish approximately 55 additional branches and create more than 350 job opportunities for local residents.
In conjunction with the branch opening, Huntington Bank is celebrating its community involvement by participating in The Crit, a local bike race organized by PAL Play. The bank has set up a welcoming tent along the race route, just outside the newly opened branch, demonstrating its commitment to community engagement and support. Wes Lehrer, the Market President for the Upstate, conveyed his pride as a lifelong Spartanburg resident, emphasizing the significance of this new branch in fostering stronger relationships within the community.\
Lehrer stated, “Opening this branch in the heart of Spartanburg is an important step in building deeper relationships with our customers and neighbors. I am proud to bring Huntington’s ‘people-first, customer-centered’ approach to banking and support the area’s continued growth.”
Looking ahead, Huntington Bank is set to unveil its next branch located in the SouthPark area of Charlotte on May 12, with plans to open another branch in Charleston later in the year.
