The Smart Logistics Expo promises to bring together cutting-edge technologies aimed at addressing various issues within the logistics industry, including IoT, IT systems, AI, and robotic solutions, facilitating discussions around automation, labor reduction, and digital transformation.

Rising Concern Over Heat-related Illnesses

In recent years, the threat of heatstroke in labor environments has escalated significantly. According to the most recent data from the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare, the number of injuries resulting in more than four days of work absence due to heat-related issues rose dramatically, indicating a serious occupational health concern. To combat this increasing risk, effective heatstroke prevention measures are now mandated by revised labor safety regulations, highlighting the urgency for companies to prioritize heat management strategies.

Surprisingly, a recent survey showed that even in environments where heatstroke incidents occurred, two-thirds of those affected were wearing so-called “cooling garments.” Many of these outfits were equipped with fans, suggesting that simply relying on this type of clothing may not be sufficient under extreme heat and humid conditions prevalent in the logistics sector, particularly in outdoor working environments where temperature control remains a significant challenge.

Introducing the MEDIAID Iceing Gear Vest 2

In response, MEDIAID plans to unveil the Iceing Gear Vest 2, a revolutionary cooling suit designed for labor workers. This innovative garment combines Peltier elements with water cooling technology, ensuring effective temperature control even in environments exceeding 35°C. By directly cooling the wearer, this vest can significantly enhance comfort and safety on the job, thereby supporting more efficient work processes.

Furthermore, we will also host a ‘Real Experience Fair for Heat Management’ at the SigmaX headquarters, allowing participants to test various heat management products in controlled settings mimicking extreme working conditions. This event will run from January 13 to March 23, 2026, providing a hands-on experience to help organizations assess heat prevention gear effectively.

MEDIAID’s Broader Commitment to Worker Safety

MEDIAID is built on the expertise gained from healthcare and is devoted to supporting workers through its Workers Care initiative, which was launched in 2021. This initiative not only includes cooling garments but also features joint support gear, assistive suits, and comprehensive programs aimed at addressing workplace health and safety challenges, enhancing employee satisfaction and promoting health-focused management practices.
