CIC Fukuoka Partners to Enhance Student Entrepreneurship Education
CIC Fukuoka, an innovation hub operated by CIC Japan, has announced a significant partnership with Kyushu University’s Robert F. Kunz Entrepreneurship Center (QREC) and Nishi-Nippon Railroad Co., Ltd. This collaboration aims to establish an innovation ecosystem within the ONE FUKUOKA BLDG., located in the heart of Tenjin, to create practical learning opportunities for students and entrepreneurs alike.
The agreement will enable CIC Fukuoka to utilize certain spaces within the ONE FUKUOKA BLDG. to facilitate entrepreneurship programs in conjunction with the lectures, seminars, and activities offered by QREC. Such initiatives are designed not only to support the academic curriculum but also to foster a vibrant environment where students regularly interact with entrepreneurs and corporate personnel, thereby gaining exposure to the world of startups and urban innovation.
This partnership aligns with CIC Fukuoka's concept of a "Creative Intersection," reflecting their commitment to collaborating with various businesses and organizations in the region. By taking on the role of a hub, CIC Fukuoka aims to provide Kyushu University students interested in entrepreneurship with the practical learning experiences they need, as well as opportunities to connect with professionals working in the building and residents of CIC.
Additionally, this initiative will strengthen the ties between academia, government, and industry by fostering integrated education, research, and practical application. As students engage in ventures and project work, they will learn key skills in value creation, finance, marketing, and much more through hands-on experiences.
The entrepreneurship courses offered by QREC include a variety of learning formats such as lectures, group work, presentations, and discussions, all designed to help students acquire the competencies required to thrive in the entrepreneurial landscape.
CIC Fukuoka has emerged as a vital player in the region’s innovation scene, attracting over 140 startups, corporations, and academic institutions within just one year of its opening. This impressive growth showcases the effectiveness of the community that CIC has built, serving as a catalyst for creativity and entrepreneurship in Fukuoka.
Furthermore, QREC stands as a comprehensive educational and research center focused on entrepreneurship, aiming to cultivate individuals who can challenge the status quo across various societal sectors. Through diverse educational programs, they are dedicated to innovation for societal benefit.
Nishi-Nippon Railroad supports this initiative by providing the venue at ONE FUKUOKA BLDG., which serves not only as a working space but also as a platform for engaging diverse groups, including startups and community members. With its development concept emphasizing the cross-sector interactions of people, goods, and information, it embodies a creative intersection for developing new value and facilitating dynamic exchanges between various stakeholders.
In summary, this collaboration marks a significant step towards fostering an innovative entrepreneurial environment in Fukuoka, as CIC Fukuoka, QREC, and Nishi-Nippon Railroad join forces to bridge the gap between academia and the real world. By offering students unique opportunities for experiential learning and interaction with industry professionals, they are laying the groundwork for sustainable growth and development in the region for years to come.
