NOK Continues to Sponsor Yoshi's Cup 2025, Supporting Junior Tennis Players' Global Dreams

NOK's Commitment to Youth in Tennis: Yoshi’s Cup 2025

NOK Corporation, headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo, will continue its sponsorship of the esteemed Yoshi's Cup, which will take place from December 12 to December 14, 2025, at the Ariake Tennis Forest in Koto-ku, Tokyo. This marks the fifth consecutive year that NOK has supported this prestigious event, which aims to empower junior tennis players to pursue their dreams on an international platform.

The Essence of Yoshi’s Cup

The Yoshi’s Cup is founded by professional tennis player Yoshihito Nishioka, who aims to cultivate Japanese tennis talent that can thrive globally. The tournament welcomes promising junior players under the age of 16, and for the first time this year, they will compete at the well-known venue, Ariake Tennis Forest, which is often regarded as the spiritual home of tennis in Japan. The excitement of the event will be streamed live through the U-NEXT platform and featured on the popular tennis YouTube channel, Star Tennis Academy, which boasts 250,000 subscribers.

NOK's Role as a Continuous Sponsor

NOK Corporation adheres to its principle of “Essential Core Manufacturing,” focusing on contributing to society by manufacturing essential products globally. The company is passionate about supporting the younger generation and their challenges, believing that fostering athletic skill and spirit contributes to societal well-being. Since the inaugural event in 2021, NOK has consistently sponsored the Yoshi's Cup, and its commitment reflects the company’s core values of respect, igniting potential, exploration, and exceeding expectations. Each of these values will be prominently displayed on the tournament court, encouraging players to embrace not only their competitive spirit but also personal growth throughout the tournament.

A Platform for Future Stars

Initiated in 2021, the Yoshi’s Cup has become a critical event for aspiring players. Nishioka, currently ranked 111th in the world, hopes to establish a foundation that allows the next generation of players to compete successfully on the world stage. This year, eight junior players have been selected based on their achievements and gameplay, all of whom demonstrate great potential.

The competition is not only about winning but also offers significant support for the champion. The winner will receive a grant of 5 million yen to aid travel expenses and coaching fees. They will also gain access to a wildcard entry into the International Tennis Federation (ITF) sanctioned world tennis tour and an opportunity for short-term training at the world-renowned IMG Academy, where Nishioka himself received training. These initiatives aim to provide young players with the resources they need to advance their careers effectively.
