Shanghai Electric's Impact at Intersolar Europe 2025
In the vibrant city of Munich, from May 7 to 9, 2025, Shanghai Electric made a significant impression at Intersolar Europe, the premier solar industry exhibition worldwide. This year, the company showcased an array of innovative solutions across solar, hydrogen energy, and energy storage sectors, all geared towards accelerating Europe’s transition to carbon neutrality.
Shanghai Electric’s commitment to sustainable energy is evident in its partnerships with leading global industrial companies to devise strategies aimed at achieving a carbon-free future. As the world grapples with the increasing urgency of climate change, the importance of such alliances cannot be overstated.
The successful launch of the Bristack® series of electrolyzers by Shanghai Bright-H Technology, a subsidiary of Shanghai Electric, represents a groundbreaking advance in ecological hydrogen technology. Certified by TÜV Rheinland, the series encompasses alkaline models ranging from 100-3000 Nm³/h and PEM models from 10-400 Nm³/h. Utilizing effective gas-to-liquid transfer technology, these electrolyzers provide high current density, low energy consumption, and responsive load regulation, heralding a new era in hydrogen production efficiency.
Additionally, the company introduced the Creator 210R hetero-junction photovoltaic modules, delivering 640 W of power with an impressive bifaciality rating of 90%. Other solutions included cost-effective TOPCon modules and Building-Integrated Photovoltaics (BIPV), addressing a diverse range of energy demands. Shanghai Electric’s modular solutions significantly enhance low-carbon energy supplies, claiming to boost installation efficiency by 50%. The entire assembly process, which includes five modules alongside a BIPV roof, is designed for rapid installation utilizing screws or self-tapping screws, facilitating flexible expansions.
Furthermore, Shanghai Electric’s multi-energy systems ingeniously combine solar and hydrogen energy storage solutions, meticulously crafted to optimize both investment and operational costs. Their flexible mounting and tracking systems add more value to underutilized land. The company emphasizes long-term project benefits and energy efficiency through its lifecycle services, providing a sustainable path forward for energy projects.
In a strong demonstration of its capabilities, Shanghai Electric has independently developed, constructed, and is now operating eight photovoltaic projects in the UK with a staggering total of 220 MWh of energy storage, 100 MWh of which is operational. This initiative is expected to mitigate carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 112,000 tons annually.
In Romania, Shanghai Electric played a pivotal role in establishing and running a photovoltaic project capable of supplying green electricity to over 120,000 households. Meanwhile, the Pančevo thermal power plant in Serbia, designed to meet European standards, has produced more than 950 million KWh of electricity since its inception, effectively alleviating local energy supply constraints.
Shanghai Electric's ongoing dedication to fostering sustainable practices positions the company as a vital contributor to the quest for global carbon neutrality. By leveraging its extensive expertise and responding adeptly to local conditions, Shanghai Electric is proving its commitment to transitioning Europe’s energy sector towards a sustainable, carbon-free future by 2050.
