Phil Park Goshonann: A Fusion of Tradition and Modernity in Kyoto

In the heart of Kyoto, just a stone's throw away from Nijo Castle and the Imperial Palace, a remarkable new structure stands on Ebisugawa Street - the recently completed Phil Park Goshonann. Under the guidance of Phil Company Group, this innovative project encapsulates the essence of Kyoto, merging traditional aesthetics with modern architectural design.

A Prime Location

Strategically located near Marutamachi Station on the Karasuma Line, Phil Park Goshonann is easily accessible and surrounded by multiple historical landmarks. Ebisugawa Street itself is known as “Furniture Street,” offering a delightful mix of traditional Japanese furniture stores and contemporary interior shops. This unique cultural street is increasingly attractive to visitors and residents alike, with cozy cafes and bakeries sprouting up, creating a lively and welcoming atmosphere.

About Phil Park Goshonann

This project, also referred to as the Phil Park Kyoto Marutamachi, was initiated as a reconstruction of a 50-year-old wooden structure. With a relatively small land area of approximately 20 tsubo, the design team utilized their unique expertise to maximize the property’s potential. The prominent glass surface characteristic of Phil Parks stands out amidst the traditional buildings, serving not only as a beautiful façade but also as a functional signboard to the street. At night, the warm glow emanating from within adds vibrancy to the vicinity.

The clever integration of traditional elements, such as the “hisashi” (eaves), seamlessly blends with the property’s sleek and modern design, ensuring harmony with Kyoto’s iconic landscape. The transparent structure invites the street life into the venue, making the interior part of the urban fabric.
