Exploring Practical Applications of Generative AI in Pharma and Biotech Industries

Introduction

The pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors are experiencing a transformational shift as they embrace artificial intelligence (AI), moving beyond experimentation to tangible, utilitarian outcomes. Despite the potential, many companies still face challenges, including a lack of visible results and difficulties in integrating AI effectively into daily operations.

To address these issues, a seminar will be held to share insights from thirteen teams that participated in a four-month pilot project (PoC). This initiative yielded remarkable time savings ranging from 50% to 80%, revealing specific methods that facilitated such success. More than just showcasing success stories, the seminar aims to provide a concrete guide for effectively scaling these results across entire organizations.

Seminar Highlights

The seminar is structured around four main themes:

1. Deciding on Applicability of Generative AI: An effective framework will be introduced for swiftly assessing which operations are suitable for AI integration, providing critical insights for investment decisions.

2. Empowering Teams with Practical Knowledge: Using backcasting techniques, this theme emphasizes how to educate and enable team members to take primary responsibility for deriving results through generative AI techniques, such as prompt structuring.

3. Identifying Challenging Areas: Participants will learn how to properly evaluate the current technological limitations in fields like PowerPoint generation and OCR, as well as develop strategies for future data preparation.

4. Supporting Organizational Deployment through Governance: The seminar will explore how to design a system of governance that encompasses standardization, knowledge sharing, and risk management to ensure the safe and efficient operation of generative AI across the organization.
