Celebrate the Beloved Anime Machikado Mazoku with Free Streaming and More

Anime fans, mark your calendars! Starting from September 1st, 2025, the popular series Machikado Mazoku and its sequel Machikado Mazoku 2-chome will be available for streaming exclusively for NicoNico Premium members. For just ¥790 a month, subscribers will have unlimited access to both seasons of this delightful series. Not only that, but on September 28th, starting at 19:30 JST, a special live-streaming event will commemorate the birthday of the show's protagonist, Yuko Yoshida (Shamiko), with a free marathon of all 12 episodes of Machikado Mazoku.

A Glimpse into the Series

Machikado Mazoku tells the story of a high school girl named Yuko Yoshida, who unexpectedly awakens dark powers one morning. To lift a family curse, she must confront a magical girl who turns out to be more significant than expected. This daily slice-of-life comedy follows her humorous and chaotic encounters as she navigates her new reality. The first season premiered in July 2019, and the sequel, Machikado Mazoku 2-chome, debuted in April 2022. The series has gained immense popularity on NicoNico, spawning catchphrases like “Shamiko is to blame!”, which became a trend in the 2019 Internet Awards.

Celebrating Shamiko's Birthday

This year marks the fifth celebration of Shamiko's birthday with a special viewing event. Previous birthday marathons held in 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024 attracted around 100,000 congratulatory comments each time, showcasing the massive support from the fanbase. Viewers will be able to use NicoNico's gift feature to send original gifts along with comments to celebrate Shamiko’s special day in style.
