This summer, the Anime Tokyo Station, operated by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and the Japan Animation Association, invites you to experience its inaugural Summer Festival. Known for showcasing the captivating essence of Japanese anime, Anime Tokyo Station aims to share this unique cultural treasure with the world. Since its launch, it has already welcomed over 187,600 visitors up to June 29, 2025.

Overview of the Summer Festival


The Anime Tokyo Station is set to host various special events during this year's Summer Festival, promising a dazzling array of activities that cater to both anime enthusiasts and newcomers alike. One of the highlighted events will be the TOKIO Doki Doki Anime Workshop, designed specifically for elementary and middle school students. This workshop will be an engaging, hands-on experience where young creators can learn about animation techniques and storytelling.

What to Expect at the TOKIO Doki Doki Anime Workshop


The workshop will take place over two days: August 23 (Saturday) and August 24 (Sunday), 2025, from 1 PM to 5 PM each day. Within this timeframe, participants will delve into:
  • - Stop Motion Animation: Discover the fundamentals of how animation works and the creative processes behind it.
  • - Collaborative Project Creation: Using tablets, groups of participants will work together to bring their ideas to life in animated form. This collaborative effort promotes communication, creativity, and teamwork—skills essential for today’s young learners.

  • - Location: The workshop will be hosted on the 14th floor of the Fujikyu Building, located at 2-25-5 Minami Ikebukuro, Toshima City, Tokyo, within the same building as the Anime Tokyo Station.

Application Details


Participants are limited to 20 students per session, selected through a random drawing. Parents are welcome to accompany their children. Applications for both sessions will be open from July 10 (Thursday) at 10:00 AM until July 27 (Sunday) at 11:59 PM.
