About the EP 'FRACTAL'
The upcoming EP 'FRACTAL' draws inspiration from the geometric concept of 'self-similarity', exploring the inherent structural connections present in nature and life through music. The entire production is spearheaded by Uyama Hiroto, a pioneer in Japanese lo-fi hip-hop and a collaborator of the late, legendary hip-hop producer Nujabes. This collaboration is set to intertwine XBS's perspectives on life and values.
Comment from XBS
XBS reflects on this transformative period in his life, stating:
"As I prepare to turn 50 this March, I find my influences and values evolving. I feel a strong desire to manifest not just for myself but also for others, which is why I am initiating this solo project. The title of the EP is 'FRACTAL'. It refers to shapes and patterns that embody self-similarity, echoing the complex designs found in nature. My time spent fishing has deepened my connection to the natural world, prompting me to reflect on the principles of nature, the universe, and our planet.
Upon reviewing my life thus far, I can see parallels across my journey—from hip-hop to fashion, photography, sneakers, and fishing—each of which has shaped who I am today. I aim to encapsulate my experiences and insights gained over 50 years into this project, delivering a side of myself that I couldn’t express within a group framework. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has supported me and continue to support me in this new endeavor. I am committed to ensuring the success of this project and hope to give back through its achievements."
