Special Event for Day of the Seafarer: Free Maritime Industry Networking for Students

Special Event for Day of the Seafarer

On June 21, 2026, a unique networking event titled 'Maritime Cluster Networking in Kobe Cruise' will be held as part of the Day of the Seafarer Japan Project. This initiative aims to connect students with maritime professionals, including sailors and companies involved in shipping, maritime IT, and media, enhancing their understanding of the maritime industry.

The importance of the maritime sector in Japan cannot be overstated; it serves as a crucial infrastructure for logistics, yet its significance is often overlooked in everyday life. The event seeks to shine a light on the pivotal role sailors and the shipping industry play in society.

Participants will gather aboard a cruise ship navigating the beautiful Kobe Port, where they will meet current sailors and various professionals from maritime-related fields. Additionally, an engaging quiz about the shipping industry will be organized, featuring prizes to encourage a fun learning experience about the industry's functions and roles. This interactive approach will foster communication and information sharing among attendees.

This event aligns with the theme of the Day of the Seafarer on June 25, which is 'Visible Thanks for Invisible Work'. The campaign’s ultimate goal is to enhance the appreciation and recognition of the social roles fulfilled by sailors, particularly among the younger generation, to inspire interest in pursuing careers in the maritime sector.

Notably, this event is free for students but has a limited capacity. Participants will experience a cruise ride while enjoying complimentary drinks. Registration is open to students over the age of 18, including university undergraduates, graduate students, and vocational school students, excluding high school students. The event details are as follows:
