Overview of the Minami-Koiwa 6-Chome District Redevelopment Project
The Minami-Koiwa 6-Chome District Urban Redevelopment Project has officially reached a significant milestone with the completion of the III Block facilities. This noteworthy development is spearheaded by the Minami-Koiwa 6-Chome District Redevelopment Association, with contributions from key players including Nomura Real Estate, MIRARTH Holdings, and Shimizu Corporation. Construction of the new residential and commercial complex, known as the "Proud Tower Koiwa Front", has concluded, and occupancy is set to begin in March.
Significance of the Project
The completed structure is strategically positioned near Koiwa Station's south exit and features a blend of residential units, commercial spaces, and a public bicycle parking facility accommodating approximately 3,000 bicycles, managed by Edogawa City. This structure is the culmination of the ongoing urban redevelopment initiative that began with the completion of additional blocks in the years 2021 and 2022, creating a comprehensive urban renewal project.
The redevelopment association was established in July 2012, followed by various approvals and planning stages that shaped the project into what it is today. This initiative not only promotes residential and commercial development but also enhances public space for community engagement, aligning with the Edogawa City’s basic development concepts for the Koiwa area.
Features of the Proud Tower Koiwa Front
The new Proud Tower Koiwa Front stands 33 stories high with one underground level, featuring a total of 367 residential units, 9 of which are designated as non-sale units. A significant aspect of this complex is the two-story elevated deck that connects it to the adjacent Proud Tower Koiwa First, further enhancing the pedestrian experience around Koiwa Station and contributing to the vibrant Flower Road shopping district.
