ohDEER's First Annual Coat Drive
In a heartwarming initiative to support local families in need, ohDEER, a renowned company specializing in all-natural pest control, has successfully collected over 2,000 coats during its inaugural coat drive. This impactful event was organized in collaboration with Coats for Kids & Families and Anton's Cleaners, aimed at providing much-needed warmth for families in Massachusetts this winter.
How the Initiative Works
The coat drive was designed for maximum convenience, allowing customers to donate unwanted winter coats during their regular pest control services. As technicians visited clients, they distributed bags along with postcards detailing the coat drive, encouraging clients to fill these bags with coats they no longer needed. This simple act allowed homeowners to contribute to the cause without disrupting their busy schedules. On the day of their next service appointment, clients were asked to leave the filled bags outside for collection.
In the spirit of community collaboration, Anton's Cleaners has taken charge of cleaning and preparing the collected coats for distribution throughout the state. This partnership not only simplifies the process for donors but also significantly increases the number of coats gathered for those in need.
Commitment to Community
Colleen Upham, owner and co-founder of ohDEER, emphasized the company’s mission extending beyond pest control. “Giving back to our community is a cornerstone of our values, and we’re honored to make a meaningful impact by providing warmth to families in need,” she stated during the launch of the coat drive.
This initiative is not just a one-time event; ohDEER plans to establish the coat drive as an annual tradition, reinforcing its commitment to community-driven initiatives. The drive is ongoing until January 5th, offering plenty of time for individuals to participate and support local families.
How to Donate
Donations are being accepted at several convenient locations, including any Anton's Cleaners, Enterprise Bank, or Jordan's Furniture. For those interested in contributing, the process is straightforward and significantly impacts the local community.
