ACEC California Welcomes New Executive Director and Leadership Changes for Future Growth

ACEC California Announces New Leadership

On December 3, 2025, the American Council of Engineering Companies of California, commonly known as ACEC California, made significant strides in its leadership structure by appointing Tyler Munzing as the new Executive Director. This announcement marks the beginning of an exciting chapter for the organization, effective from November 1, 2025.

Tyler Munzing brings a wealth of experience in association leadership along with a robust background in public policy advocacy. His appointment comes at a critical time as ACEC California continues its mission to address infrastructure growth, innovation, and reinforce professional excellence within the engineering sector. Tyler's unique understanding of the engineering industry's challenges and opportunities will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of ACEC California.

Alongside Tyler's appointment, ACEC California also announced two key promotions within its leadership team:
  • - Voleck Taing has stepped up as the Director of Government Affairs, where she will spearhead ACEC California's legislative and regulatory initiatives. This role is vital in enhancing relationships with policymakers and advancing the interests of member firms.
  • - Gaby Cervantes has been promoted to Government Affairs Advocate. In this expanded role, Gaby will play an essential part in developing and advocating for ACEC California’s policy initiatives, ensuring that the concerns of its members are heard on key issues impacting the engineering landscape.

This leadership transition comes as outgoing Executive Director Brad Diede prepares to retire, having served the organization with distinction for over ten years. Brad will remain on board until December 31, 2025, aiding in the transition process to ensure the organization’s ongoing momentum and stability.

Jason Matson, current President of ACEC California and representing the Board of Directors, expressed gratitude for Brad's dedicated service. “We are thankful for Brad's leadership and the impact he has made to strengthen our organization and enhance opportunities for our members. The Board is also excited to welcome Tyler and to celebrate the well-earned promotions of Voleck and Gaby as we move forward under Tyler’s guidance,” Matson commented.

ACEC California stands as a beacon in the engineering community, dedicated to shaping an effective and sustainable future.
