Rain Expands Support for Solana, Tron, and Stellar to Enhance Stablecoin Card Programs

Rain Expands Support for Solana, Tron, and Stellar

In a significant development for the financial technology space, Rain, renowned for being a global stablecoin-based card issuing platform, has announced its native support for major blockchains - Solana, Tron, and Stellar. This strategic move enriches Rain's existing infrastructure, enabling partners to seamlessly introduce stablecoin-powered card programs across multiple blockchain networks simultaneously.

Launched in New York on May 29, 2025, this expansion marks a new chapter in Rain’s mission to create a more accessible, programmable, and global financial infrastructure. As financial technology continues evolving rapidly, the integration of these three prominent blockchain ecosystems demonstrates Rain's commitment to simplifying and enhancing payment solutions.

With this new support, Rain aims to empower partners, who utilize Solana’s high throughput infrastructure, the robust stablecoin ecosystem of Tron, and the remittance-oriented network of Stellar, to swiftly roll out compliant card programs. The implication of this initiative extends to various forms of real-world payments, including consumer and business expenditures, cross-border disposals, and platform payments—all aimed at leveraging stablecoin utility.

Rain stands out as the only principal member of Visa granting partners the ability to deploy and manage card programs across multiple blockchain systems simultaneously. This functionality is available immediately, accommodating both custodial and non-custodial wallets. By doing so, it significantly streamlines how exchanges, fintech companies, neobanks, and platforms issue operational cards on a global scale, allowing stablecoins to be utilized at over 150 million merchants accepting Visa.

Charles Yoo-Naut, CTO and co-founder of Rain, articulated the company's vision by stating, "The rapid development of solutions to meet our partners' needs is part of Rain's commitment to building a more open, global, and efficient financial infrastructure." He further noted, “By offering native support for Solana, Tron, and Stellar, we are introducing our solutions into even more ecosystems, permitting partners to construct scalable stablecoin-enabled card programs that enhance payment experiences for all users."

To illustrate, the partnership includes KAST, a neobank application built on Solana, collaborating with Rain to provide branded cards that allow users to spend stablecoins directly from their wallets. Thanks to Solana’s fast and cost-effective architecture, KAST is able to create real-time and seamless payment experiences for its growing user base across global markets.

Another notable collaboration is with Offramp, a fintech company built on Tron and working in conjunction with Rain on its card program. Offramp aims to offer greater financial freedom to individuals worldwide, notably in Latin America. With a Visa card issued by Rain, users can transact with digital dollars anywhere Visa is accepted, thus rendering on-chain assets usable in the physical world.

These integrations are a direct response to the increasing demand from platforms that seek uninterrupted stablecoin spending capabilities. This expansion not only enhances Rain's existing offerings, which already include frameworks like Arbitrum, Optimism, and Polygon but also fortifies its leadership position in providing a multi-chain and stablecoin-native card infrastructure.

In March, Rain successfully raised $24.5 million in Series A funding, and the recent announcement represents another milestone in its rapid growth and dedication to allocating resources towards supporting new partners. By expanding its global outreach and meeting the rising demand for programmable payments, Rain is re-outfitting the essential financial infrastructure required for money to flow more efficiently around the world.
