Gardner White and Children's Foundation Launch Statewide Campaign for Early Childhood Development

Collaborating for a Brighter Future

In a significant effort to uplift Michigan's youngest learners, Gardner White and the Children's Foundation of Michigan have announced the launch of the "Bring It Home for Kids" initiative. This statewide campaign is dedicated to enhancing access to early language, literacy, and family support programs, ensuring that young children build the foundational skills necessary for lifelong success.

Why Invest in Early Childhood?

Research underscores the vital importance of early childhood development, particularly in language and literacy, which play critical roles in shaping a child’s future. By the age of five, nearly 90% of brain development is complete, identifying this period as an optimal time for intervention. Unfortunately, many families in Michigan struggle to access quality early childhood resources. This initiative aims to bridge that gap by providing educational and developmental opportunities to those in need.

Rachel Stewart, CEO of Gardner White, emphasized the shared belief that investing in children today lays the groundwork for a healthier and more prosperous Michigan tomorrow. "Every child deserves a foundation that sets them up for a bright future. Our responsibility goes beyond simply furnishing homes; it involves nurturing the communities we serve," she stated.

In addition, Andrew Stein, President and CEO of the Children's Foundation of Michigan, expressed gratitude for the partnership, highlighting that when businesses invest in early childhood, the benefits extend far beyond immediate gains. By working together, the aim is to help more children attain the healthy start they need to thrive in school and beyond.

Campaign Details

From July 9 to August 4, for every qualifying purchase of $500 or more in-store, Gardner White will donate $50 to the Children's Foundation. This collaborative effort turns transactions into investments for Michigan's next generation. All Gardner White locations across Michigan will participate, with the new Grand Rapids location starting on August 6 and continuing through September 1.

The funds raised during this period will facilitate:
  • - Broader access to high-quality early childhood education and healthcare
  • - Increased developmental screenings for hearing, vision, and oral health
  • - Expansion of early language, learning, and literacy programs across Michigan
  • - Support for parents and caregivers to take on the crucial role of their child’s first teacher
  • - Enhanced readiness for school among children, ensuring they enter healthy and confident.

Transparent Funding Process

The donations generated through the Bring It Home for Kids campaign will undergo distribution via the Children's Foundation's established grantmaking process. Organizations wishing to apply for funding will be invited to submit proposals as detailed funding priorities are announced post-campaign. This structured approach ensures transparency and directs resources to the initiatives that will maximize impact for children and families in Michigan.

Celebrating Michigan

Additionally, Gardner White is excited to invite Michiganders to celebrate local culture and community spirit through the Bring It Home for Kids sweepstakes, which offers unique experiences ranging from Detroit Lions season tickets to family adventures across the state. Customers making qualifying purchases during the campaign will automatically enter for a chance to win, further enhancing community engagement.

For those seeking more information about the sweepstakes, detailed rules can be found on their website: www.gardner-white.com/childrens-foundation.
