Kamo Aquarium Hosts 12th Citizen Day and Beach Clean Initiative

Kamo Aquarium Celebrates Community Spirit with Citizen Day

On February 11, 2026, Kamo Aquarium, a central facility of Granvista Hotel & Resort located in Kamo City, hosted its 12th Citizen Day, coinciding with the city’s anniversary. Despite inclement weather, more than 1,000 residents of Kamo City participated in this community-oriented event, signaling a strong local engagement.

The annual Citizen Day was initiated in 2015 to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the city's establishment and has continued to foster connections with the local community. This year’s event featured local products showcased in stalls, along with exciting support events for the women's soccer team, Orcas Kamo FC.

In addition to these activities, children from certified local kindergartens exhibited their artwork, with two selected pieces being awarded: one received the Kamo Aquarium General Manager's Award, while the other was honored with the Kamo City Mayor's Award.

A new initiative introduced this year is the Beach Clean Campaign, carried out in collaboration with local businesses and Orcas Kamo FC. This effort reflected the importance of community partnership and environmental responsibility. It served as an excellent opportunity to appreciate the value of working together for the community's well-being and the environment.

Kamo Aquarium is committed to further enhancing its relationship with the local community and continuing its efforts in activities that contribute to societal betterment.
