This event marks the culmination of the Earth Saver Project, which empowers the next generation to protect the planet through engaging activities in various natural settings across Tokyo.

The event is co-hosted by the Tokyo Junior Chamber and CLASS EARTH, and it provides a platform for children to express how their perspectives and actions toward biodiversity have evolved through the Nature Positive tour. This year, the tour featured three immersive experiences at locations like Shinjuku Gyoen, the rooftop of Otemachi Building, and the Sunshine Aquarium, allowing kids to learn directly from the urban environment and its ecosystems.

Witnessing the Connections of Life in the City

The experiences aim to encourage children to ponder their individual roles in enhancing biodiversity. During the tour, participants engaged in hands-on learning that deviated from traditional textbook methods. Instead, they closely observed real-life environments, discovering the authentic existence of various organisms through their own insights and emotions. These experiences will serve as a foundation for their future endeavors at the upcoming 'Earth Saver Farm' exhibit planned for the GREEN x EXPO 2027.

The Earth Saver Farm project aims to connect past experiences to sustainable future actions, presenting a radical idea for the 2027 International Horticultural Exposition. Rather than exhibiting fully developed plants, the focus will be on showcasing the entire process of planting, nurturing, harvesting, and enjoying plants, highlighting the essential time spent on growth as a core exhibit.

The event will unveil innovative educational models that utilize practical applications of the neglected bamboo forests, along with plans to expand this initiative nationally through the establishment of satellite venues. Among the highlights, acclaimed director Masahiro Kawamori will present ideas on how the legacy of the 2025 Expo will be passed to the next generation, supported by video messages from a roster of distinguished advisors.

Exploring Endangered Vegetables with AI Technology

In line with the ethos of the Earth Saver Project, Plantio will introduce its digital cultivation guide, 'grow,' which aids in the cultivation of endangered traditional vegetables. Utilizing AI, the system will provide guidance on optimal care techniques, aiding in understanding the dynamics of plant growth and decline. Attendees will also have the chance to see the actual sensors used in the 'grow' system.

Sustainable Architecture Using Bamboo

The presentation will also showcase architectural concepts built upon utilizing neglected bamboo forests in practical learning projects. Designs include collaborative efforts with children to create bamboo roofing and growing Japanese grapes, envisioning a future where these grapes become wine gifts for them as adults.

Children who participated in the 'Earth Saver Family English' program will also present their roadmap as 'Attendants' at the exposition, sharing their newfound knowledge of environmental issues globally. Guests at the presentation will receive a special eco-friendly ticket made of bamboo, marking the beginning of their journey as ambassadors.
