BSV Association and EU4Advice Lead Governance Initiatives at Green Minds Gather

Advancing Agrifood Governance at Green Minds Gather

The BSV Association (BSVA) is making significant strides in the agrifood policy arena by partnering with EU4Advice at the upcoming Green Minds Gather event. This important gathering, scheduled for April 29th and 30th at Copenhagen Business School, aims to advance governance and traceability in the European agrifood sector. As a well-known advisory agency, EU4Advice specializes in fostering valuable connections between senior leaders and government officials, making them an ideal partner for BSVA.

The Green Minds Gather conference, organized by the Centre for Sustainable Agrifood Systems (START), expects to attract over 500 stakeholders, including EU policymakers, agrifood professionals, and researchers. This convergence of expertise is anticipated to generate actionable research insights and policy initiatives crucial for the future of agrifood systems in Europe. Following the conference, START plans to publish a policy input paper, outlining pivotal research directions and proposals, timed with Denmark's assumption of the EU presidency in mid-2025.

BSVA's focus on sustainability resonates with the ambitions of Green Minds Gather. The association is committed to innovative governance models that promote sustainability in food production and contribute to the establishment of regenerative economies. Acknowledging the potential of blockchain technology, BSVA emphasizes that the BSV blockchain inherently promotes transparency and trust throughout the agrifood supply chain.

Ásgeir Óskarsson, Managing Director of the BSV Association, highlighted the pressing need for traceability, collaboration, and innovation in agricultural transformation. He stated, "Sustainable transformation in agriculture requires traceability, collaboration, and innovation and EU4Advice is a key driver in making this happen. Blockchain technology plays a vital role in this transformation and BSV Blockchain is key to the initiative..."

During the conference, Mark Frederiks will represent Amped and EU4Advice while leading an interactive session focused on developing localized food systems and enhancing short food supply chains. Given the global rise in food insecurity, tracking produce from source to shelf has become essential. Blockchain serves as a viable, scalable solution that guarantees integrity and equity within the supply chain.

The collaboration between BSV Association and EU4Advice extends beyond the Green Minds event, as they continue endorsing the E4U initiative. This initiative promotes the potential of blockchain-backed governance models in cultivating sustainable agrifood innovations. BSVA aims to contribute to a comprehensive policy input paper aimed at policy and decision-makers, which will be published by START as part of Denmark's EU presidency in July 2025.
