Midea Unveils Comprehensive Sustainable HVAC Line at CR 2025 in Madrid
From November 18 to 20, 2025, Midea Air Conditioning showcased its extensive range of sustainable innovations at the CR 2025, Spain's leading trade fair for HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) professionals. The event highlighted several key products that underscore Midea's leadership in energy efficiency, natural refrigerants, and intelligent air conditioning solutions.
Focus on R290 Series
Midea's R290 series epitomizes the brand's commitment to its motto of "GREEN VISION, BLUE FUTURE." As a pioneer in the commercialization of R290 air conditioning units, Midea began this journey back in 2010 with a pilot production line financed by the United Nations. Today, the company operates 12 state-of-the-art production lines with an annual capacity of 6.4 million units. The R290 solutions have gained significant acceptance in global markets, significantly contributing to carbon emission reductions and influencing international standards for eco-friendly refrigerants.
Leveraging a robust research team of over 10,000 engineers and 42 pilot laboratories, Midea has developed a comprehensive lineup of R290 products that cater to residential, commercial, and industrial applications. This strategic vision aims to make green technologies widely accessible.
Introducing ECOMASTER
Another highlight of the exhibition was ECOMASTER, an AI-driven energy-saving system that optimizes the performance of Midea devices, especially air conditioning units, to reduce energy consumption. The ECOMASTER continuously monitors indoor conditions and external weather data, making real-time adjustments with a tolerance of ±0.3°C. This ensures sustained comfort while optimizing energy usage to achieve savings over 30%.
The system, integrated into models like Solstice and Solunar, sets new benchmarks for efficiency. The Solstice model boasts an A+++ rating for cooling and an A++ for heating, while Solunar achieves an A++ for cooling and A+ for heating. Both models represent the next generation of smart, sustainable air conditioning solutions.
The Versatile PortaSplit
The PortaSplit portable air conditioning unit also garnered significant attention. Designed for high performance and installation flexibility, PortaSplit features a Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio (SEER) of 6.1 and a Seasonal Coefficient of Performance (SCOP) of 4.0. Its design accommodates various European window types, including French balconies, pitched roofs, and horizontal sliding windows. This adaptability makes it suitable for diverse living styles, from modern apartments to historical buildings.
Live demonstrations at the Midea booth showcased its three-step, tool-free installation process, which has generated strong market demand, leading to a sellout at its launch in France.
A Compact Heating Solution: H-Pack
Midea also introduced H-Pack, a compact heating solution selected for this year’s innovation gallery in air conditioning and cooling. H-Pack focuses on low Global Warming Potential (GWP) refrigerants, digital controls, and circular economy principles. Developed by Midea's European R&D team, H-Pack incorporates the environmentally friendly R290 refrigerant and eliminates the need for an external unit. Its modular indoor-ready design ensures seamless compatibility with gas boiler systems while simplifying installation and maintenance.
Combining efficiency, versatility, and a space-saving design, H-Pack presents a cost-effective approach to contemporary heating solutions. Live demonstrations by German experts illustrated its user-friendly architecture and practical advantages in real-world applications.
Professional Engagement and Community Involvement
Beyond product innovation, Midea encouraged professional engagement through interactive workshops held throughout the event. These workshops facilitated technical exchanges and deepened collaboration within the industry. Midea expanded its presence outside the exhibition halls with promotional campaigns focusing on its dual sponsorship of Manchester City and Sevilla FC in Gran Vía, Feria de Madrid, and IFEMA.
Midea is committed to advancing intelligent transformation in residential and industrial environments. With a strong emphasis on sustainability and innovation, the company envisions a future shaped by the collaboration between humans and machines. By incorporating KUKA industrial robotics and MIRA home automation technologies, Midea aims to redefine efficiency and enhance human experiences, enabling individuals to pursue creativity and progress.
