In an outstanding revelation for the refined world of whisky, Kavalan Solist Oloroso Sherry Single Cask Strength has been recognized as the 'Best of the Best' in the Single Malt category at the Tokyo Whisky & Spirits Competition (TWSC) 2026. This prestigious accolade highlights Kavalan's continual excellence in whisky production, marking its seventh world championship title in the competition's history, including an impressive four consecutive 'Best of the Best' awards.

The accolade was graciously accepted by Mr. YT Lee, Chairman of the King Car Group, during the award ceremony, who shared his pride and gratitude. Kavalan Solist Oloroso Sherry undergoes meticulous maturation in specially selected Spanish Oloroso Sherry casks. Uniquely, it is bottled at single-cask strength, omitting color additives and cold filtration. The whisky presents a rich, full-bodied experience, bursting with complex notes such as dried fruits, roasted nuts, marzipan, and vanilla, all seamlessly interlaced with warming spices and an enduring finish reminiscent of fine coffee.

TWSC jurors hailed it as "a perfect representation of Sherry cask maturation," praising its intricate aroma profile that embraces dried fruits, cinnamon, cloves, chocolate, and aged sherry, all complemented by a substantial sweetness, balanced complexity, and an exceptionally long finish. One juror succinctly encapsulated the essence, declaring it to be a “wonderful aroma, excellent single malt.”
