Mila-e Checkup Enhancements in Yamagata City
In November 2025, the Mila-e checkup service, developed by the Tokyo-based company, Milabo, will expand its digital questionnaire offerings to include health checkups for 10- and 11-month-old infants in Yamagata City, Gifu Prefecture. This initiative marks a significant step in enhancing the healthcare services available for new parents and their children.
Background of the Expansion
Since its inception in August 2022, Milabo has been committed to providing comprehensive support for parenting families in Yamagata City. The services began with the introduction of the
Sakurakko Navi parenting support app, designed to assist parents with various needs during pregnancy and child-rearing. In May 2025, the Mila-e digital questionnaire for infant health checkups was introduced, initially catering to 3- and 4-month-old infants.
The response from parents has been overwhelmingly positive, leading to the decision to expand the service to include older infants. The new range for digital questionnaires will significantly streamline the health checkup process, making it easier for parents to access vital healthcare information.
Details of Mila-e Checkup Services
The Mila-e checkup service is a digital questionnaire solution specifically designed for infant health consultations. It facilitates communication and data sharing between local governments, medical institutions, and parents, ensuring a comprehensive approach to healthcare. The service can manage both individual and group health checkups, allowing for better record-keeping and continuity in a child's health management.
The advancement of the Mila-e system is built upon the success of previous projects, including proof-of-concept programs initiated by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, and the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare. Leveraging expertise gained from developing vaccination record systems and COVID-19 vaccination certificate applications, Mila-e has been optimized for the needs of pediatric health monitoring.
With the rollout of the new services in November 2025, the following health checkups will be supported:
- - Continuous service for 3- and 4-month-old infant health checkups
- - New service for 10- and 11-month-old infant health checkups
