With an impressive career spanning over three decades in hospitality and retail law, Barth brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the firm, particularly in commercial real estate and franchise law.
A Distinguished Career in Hospitality
Barry Barth’s professional journey is marked by significant roles in renowned companies. Most recently, he served as the Vice President and Legal Counsel for Panera Bread Company, a position he held for an extensive 21 years. During his tenure at Panera, Barth played an instrumental role in the legal oversight of the company's real estate portfolio and the development of new restaurant locations. He was actively involved in various aspects of the business, including site selection and lease negotiations, contributing to the remarkable growth of Panera from approximately 400 bakery café restaurants to over 2,000 locations across the U.S. and Canada.
Before his impactful stint at Panera, Barth was the Director and Legal Counsel for Dunkin' Brands, where he handled legal matters relating to the development and management of more than 1,500 properties. His experience also includes serving as Assistant General Counsel for J. Baker, Inc., overseeing multiple retail brands, where he honed his legal expertise in both hospitality and retail sectors.

In addition to his legal practice, Barth is dedicated to education as an adjunct professor at Boston University's School of Hospitality Administration, teaching Hospitality Law since 2020. His commitment to the community is evident through his involvement in various organizations, including serving on the Advisory Committees of the CJP's Schecter Holocaust Services and the Paul Revere Museum of Discovery and Innovation. He has also participated in Cycle for Survival, which raises funds for rare cancer research, while contributing a decade of service to the Zoning Board of Appeals in Sharon, MA.
Barth holds a Juris Doctor degree with honors from the George Washington University National Law Center and a Bachelor of Arts degree, cum laude, from Brandeis University. His diverse experience, combined with his educational background, positions him as a strong asset to Rubin and Rudman and its clientele.
