The Challenge


Currently, many building management operations are heavily dependent on manual patrols and visual inspections. As Japan faces a declining labor force, it is essential to develop management models that do not rely solely on human resources. This is particularly critical as large-scale facilities contain vast amounts of equipment data, often managed in isolation, complicating the ability to obtain a comprehensive overview of each asset's condition. To address these challenges, the four companies are collaborating to conduct a proof of concept (PoC) aimed at automating building management through remote monitoring and control. This experiment will integrate data collected from cameras, sensors, and various equipment into the cloud, utilizing generative AI to enhance monitoring, anomaly detection, and support data collection for on-site workers.

The anticipated outcomes of this experiment include:
  • - Remote monitoring of approximately 5,000 pieces of equipment data currently managed through a central monitoring system, supplemented by real-time data from network cameras and sensors capturing information from analog meters and electrical panels.
  • - Integration of this data and video into a centralized cloud system for unified management.
  • - Testing the effectiveness of alerts and automatically generated reports to help operators understand the detailed status of equipment through interactive dialogues.
  • - Particularly focusing on critical issues like electrical leaks or insulation failures, enabling constant remote monitoring for timely interventions.
  • - Utilizing generative AI to quickly search and summarize the data, thus facilitating faster and more informed decision-making.
