Upcoming Free Online Seminar: Understanding the New 'Partial Pass System' for Caregivers
Overview
Human Life Care Co., Ltd. is excited to announce a free online seminar on the 'Partial Pass System' for caregiving qualifications, scheduled for November 28, 2025. This seminar is designed to address the challenges faced by foreign caregivers looking to pass the national caregiver qualification examination in Japan.
Key Details
The caregiver certification system in Japan is undergoing significant changes, particularly with the introduction of the 'Partial Pass System' in the upcoming national exam (scheduled for January 2026). This new system allows participants to retake only the sections of the exam they did not pass, instead of requiring them to retake all exam parts. With only about 33.3% of foreign candidates passing the previous tests, the new system is expected to ease the path to certification.
Understanding the 'Partial Pass System'
Previously, candidates were required to score at least 60% across all 13 exam subjects to pass. This structure often posed challenges, as a zero score in even one section would disqualify an applicant, necessitating a complete retest. The new system changes this by dividing the exam into three distinct parts, allowing candidates to focus their studies and retake only the part they failed. Each pass will be valid for two years.
Potential Challenges
While this new system may potentially enhance qualification rates, it also introduces new hurdles for foreign caregivers. The difficulty in setting effective study plans and maintaining motivation can hinder success. This seminar aims to equip educational coordinators and facility managers with the knowledge to navigate these challenges effectively.
