A New Cultural Experience in the Heart of Tokyo
Starting February 20, 2026, the restaurant and bar
SUIGIAN located in the basement of Fukutoku Shrine in Nihonbashi, Tokyo, will launch a new experiential lounge called
Hyakkawa Lou*
—Tokyo Underground Arts Society—. This unique event will take place every Friday, inviting guests to delve into a new nighttime cultural experience that merges traditional Japanese art forms with cutting-edge technology.
The name Hyakkawa
pays homage to the legendary restaurant of the same name that thrived during the Edo period, one of the four great ryotei (traditional Japanese inns) of the time. This renowned establishment, frequented by notable figures such as Iino Tadataka and Rai San'yo, served as a cultural salon where intellect and creativity flourished across social strata.
Unable to let such a vivid historical context vanish, SUIGIAN
aims to update and reinterpret this legacy while respecting its roots. The venue is committed to creating a cultural gateway, making traditional arts accessible for younger generations and foreign visitors who might find them intimidating. The aim is to revive the enchanting atmosphere akin to a “secret society” underground, expressing Japan's intrinsic aesthetic values through innovative cultural programming.
February and March Kick-Off Programs
The lounge will kick off with a series of exciting programs:
- - February 20: TECHNOH LAB featuring artists like Tatsumi Manjiro and Ken Ishii. Special early bird pricing available!

Historic Significance of Hyakkawa
