17th Annual Miami Takeover: A Celebration of Culture and Community



The annual Miami Takeover (MTO) is back for its 17th edition, set to take place from July 25-28, 2025 in beautiful Miami Beach. This dynamic event series promises an unforgettable blend of Black culture, engaging performances, and community service initiatives. MTO partners with the Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau (GMCVB) and is an official part of the Art of Black Miami Beach event series, supported by the Miami Beach Visitors and Convention Authority (MBVCA).


Event Highlights


The Miami Takeover is known for its vibrant atmosphere and rich cultural engagement, particularly aimed at HBCU graduates and the Black community. The weekend lineup is packed with exciting programs and activities designed for fun and enrichment. From charity events to live performances, there is something for everyone.

  • - Friday, July 25, 2025
- Colgate Bright Smiles, Bright Futures Community Service Kickoff: 9 AM - 11 AM
Collaborating with Miami Beach Police Athletic League, this fourth annual event provides dental screenings and cleanings for 100 children under 12.
- Miami Meet and Greet Splashdown: 2 PM - 7 PM, Z Ocean Hotel
Enjoy food, drinks, music, and networking opportunities with fellow attendees.
- Miami Nights in White (All White Party): 9 PM - 2 AM, The Urban
A festive gathering featuring HDCU happy hour specials.

  • - Saturday, July 26, 2025
- Art of GoGo Culture Fest (Main Event): 5 PM - 10 PM, Miami Beach Bandshell
Live performances from top artists like the Junkyard Band and Marcus Blake bring the spirit of Go-Go music alive.
- Can We Talk: The All Black RB Party: 10 PM - 4 AM, Club M2
Dress to impress in your best all-black outfit for a night of R&B hits!

  • - Sunday, July 27, 2025
- Miami Takeover Community Service Beach Sweep: 10:30 AM - 12 PM, Marseilles Hotel
Join in community service with a beach cleanup.
- Splash Daytime Pool Party: 3 PM - 9 PM, The Backyard Pool Club
A relaxing wrap-up to the weekend with music and poolside fun.

About the Founders


The Miami Takeover was founded by a trio of HBCU graduates—Wylie Kynard, Antwoine McCoy, and Vincent Peden—who are dedicated to uplifting their community through cultural engagement and entertainment. Stemming from their shared experiences at Florida A&M University, their commitment to excellence and caring drives each MTO event:
