Trucordia Welcomes Shelley Rathsam as New Vice President for Mergers and Acquisitions
Trucordia, one of the leading insurance brokerages in the United States, has made a significant addition to its leadership team. As of April 23, 2026, Shelley Rathsam has officially joined the firm as the Vice President of the Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) team. This move is anticipated to enhance Trucordia's strategic growth and operational efficacy in the evolving landscape of the insurance industry.
Shelley Rathsam brings a wealth of experience with her, having spent nearly five years honing her skills at Arthur J. Gallagher, where she was instrumental in leading M&A sourcing and executing deals in diverse markets including the U.S., Western Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. Her broad experience spans over 25 years across various sectors including healthcare, executive searches, and insurance.
During her tenure at Gallagher, Rathsam collaborated closely with regional presidents and other practice leaders to structure merger pipelines and adeptly managed deals from initial valuation through to closing. Her success in the M&A space is underscored by her ability to cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders, facilitating seamless processes in complex transactions.
Prior to Gallagher, Rathsam's almost decade-long commitment to insurance roles at Blue Cross Blue Shield Global further solidified her reputation in the industry. As the Regional Sales Director for the West Coast, she spearheaded market strategies and fostered business development for multinational corporations. This background equips her with a multifaceted perspective on market dynamics and client needs, making her a valuable asset to Trucordia.
Rocky Steele, Senior Vice President of Business Development at Trucordia, expressed enthusiasm about Rathsam's onboarding, stating, “Shelley brings invaluable sourcing, sales, and relationship experience. She knows how to build a pipeline from scratch, keep sellers and advisers engaged, and get deals across the finish line. We’re excited to have her as a leader on our team as we continue to grow.”
In her own words, Rathsam articulated her commitment to a collaborative approach to M&A, emphasizing the importance of both strategy and relationship management. “What I love most is the mix of strategy and relationship work that comes with M&A,” she said, reflecting on her new role. “Trucordia is in an exciting growth phase with a lot of momentum behind it, and I’m looking forward to helping find the right new partners and guiding them through a process that is not only thoughtful but also well run.”
