Blue Mountain Capital (BMC) has announced a significant addition to its team with the appointment of Suraj Desai as Partner and Head of Hospitality. With over 13 years of extensive experience in capital advisory, Desai is set to lead the firm’s national hospitality finance practice from its office in Florida, a move that is expected to enhance BMC’s operations in this sector.

Desai brings an impressive track record to BMC, having closed over $1 billion in debt and equity transactions throughout his career. This wealth of experience positions him as a key player in navigating the complexities of commercial real estate (CRE) transactions, especially within the hospitality industry, which is currently experiencing rising demand for innovative and sophisticated capital structures.

His prior experiences include critical leadership roles at Chicago’s Alpha Capital CRE and Mag Mile Capital. Desai’s career began at a specialized family office in New Jersey, where he assisted in managing a diversified commercial real estate portfolio.

Educationally, he holds a Bachelor of Science from Rutgers University and a Master of Education from DePaul University. His multi-regional expertise spanning New York, Chicago, and Florida provides a broad perspective that is invaluable to BMC's hospitality and structured finance initiatives.
