Record-Breaking Success at the Applied Underwriters Invitational Tournament

The Applied Underwriters Invitational has reached new heights in philanthropy and participation this year, celebrating its 37th edition with astounding figures and unwavering support from the community. Hosted from May 14th to 18th at the renowned Whistling Straits and Blackwolf Run golf courses in Kohler, Wisconsin, this year’s event shattered previous records, raising a staggering $14 million for various beneficiary charities.

President of Applied Underwriters, Jamie Sahara, proudly announced that over 12,000 golfers participated in the tournament, a notable increase from the 11,000 participants in the previous year. Alongside the growing number of competitors, the event also saw a remarkable uptick in volunteer support, with 2,000 volunteers contributing their time, up from 1,200 last year. The tournament was complemented by 85 local tournaments, surpassing last year’s total of 76, showcasing the event’s expanding reach and popularity.

This year, over 75 charitable organizations will benefit from the funds raised, an increase from 65 last year—a testament to the tournament’s commitment to enhancing community support. Cumulatively, the invitational has raised over $300 million for charities since its inception, making a significant impact across various sectors and communities.

A Star-Studded Event

The finals drew attention not only for its charitable purpose but also for the array of sports celebrities and entertainers that supported the initiative. NFL legends such as Justin Reid, Kevin Lockett, and Warren Moon, alongside NBA icons like Ken Thomas and Alex English, graced the event with their presence. The celebrity contributions added a layer of excitement and allure, helping to elevate the overall experience.

Among the prominent figures in golf, celebrated champion Nancy Lopez and former world number one Luke Donald lent their prestigious presence to the tournament. Donald, recognized for his expertise at WHistling Straits, noted its challenging yet breathtaking course layout, which demands the best from golfers while offering stunning views of Lake Michigan.

Community and Corporate Collaboration

The growth of the Applied Underwriters Invitational is significantly influenced by the positive engagement from sponsors, brokers, and volunteers alike. As the organization gears up for its 2026 season, Sahara emphasized the ongoing commitment to provide even more events and contributions to charity, inviting current and prospective players to sign up early. The tournaments are set to begin in late May, promising to build upon this year’s achievements.
