Fujitecom Showcases Innovative Leak Detection Tech at 2025 Hiroshima Water Expo

Fujitecom Showcases AI-Powered Leak Detection at 2025 Hiroshima Water Expo

Fujitecom Inc., headquartered in Chiyoda, Tokyo, proudly participated in the 2025 Hiroshima Water Expo held from October 29 to 31 at Hiroshima Gate Park. Despite the rain on the final day of the expo, approximately 1,000 attendees from across the nation visited our booth over the three days. We express our heartfelt gratitude to all who visited us.

Booth Highlights

Our booth focused on the theme: "Preventing Water Leak Accidents! - AI × IoT × Sensing Technology Realizing DX Leak Monitoring." The centerpiece of our display was the advanced LeakNet Cellular LNL-C system, designed to preemptively identify potential water leak incidents through remote monitoring utilizing DX technology. Additionally, we showcased the Remote Water Pressure and Flow Monitoring System DLC and conducted discussions about our research on on-device AI.

The LeakNet Cellular LNL-C garnered significant interest from attendees, leading to detailed discussions regarding monitoring locations and implementation cases. This provided a valuable opportunity for visitors to appreciate the effectiveness of the LeakNet Cellular system in managing water pipeline risks.

Research Presentations

During the expo, we also participated in the National Conference of the Japan Water Association (107th Meeting and Water Research Presentation). We presented two research papers: one focusing on the development of on-device AI equipped with survey equipment for the standardization of leak survey assistance, and another addressing enhancements in underground communication. Both presentations were well-received, sparking numerous inquiries from attendees.

Advanced On-Device AI for Pipeline Leak Detection

Our research specifically demonstrated the impact of integrating AI in leak detection, signaling a technological shift towards more efficient monitoring strategies within water supply infrastructure. This initiative aims to enhance the overall effectiveness of leak detection methods, ultimately contributing to improved water infrastructure management.

Enhancements through Mobile Monitoring

Furthermore, we showcased the effectiveness of using mobile monitoring devices empowered by cellular networks to optimize communication, paving the way for increased efficiency as water facilities undergo digital transformation (DX).

Key Features of the LeakNet Cellular LNL-C

  • - Cloud-Based IoT Remote Leak Monitoring System: The system uses high-sensitivity IoT sensors installed on water pipelines to monitor vibrations caused by leaks for 2 hours daily. If our proprietary AI algorithm, Hybrid Leak Judgment (available in the premium plan), detects a leak, notifications are promptly sent via email or social media to smartphones and PCs. This proactive system ensures early detection of micro-leaks before they lead to major surface leaks.

Expected Benefits of Utilizing LNL-C

1. Preventing Water Leak Accidents: Daily inspections can significantly mitigate the risk by monitoring aging pipelines and periods lacking leak surveys.
2. Extending Water Facility Longevity: Regular AI-enabled assessments allow for verifying the health of pipelines through everyday status checks.
3. Strengthening Crisis Management: Daily AI monitoring facilitates the rapid identification and response to anomalies.
4. Improving Operational Efficiency: It enables the prioritization of inspection areas and facilitates efficient maintenance management.
