Japan Carrier's Certificate of Excellence
Japan Carrier Corporation, based in Shinagawa, Tokyo, has recently achieved a prestigious accolade at the annual Demand-side Management Awards. Their air-cooled modular chiller and heat pump, the USX FIT®, was honored with the top award, known as the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Award from the Agency for Natural Resources and Energy. This recognition highlights the innovation and effectiveness of their technology in addressing energy management challenges.
The Demand-side Management Awards are organized by the Heat Pump and Thermal Storage Center, aiming to promote the usage of electric load leveling systems and educate society about their benefits. Japan Carrier is a subsidiary of Carrier Global Corporation (NYSE: CARR), a leader in intelligent solutions for addressing climate change and energy issues.
The USX FIT® was first introduced to the market in 2003, featuring a built-in pump for water transportation and a constant-speed compressor. Since its launch, this air-cooled modular chiller has rapidly become popular in various sectors, including retrofitting existing installations. As many older systems reach their renewal phase, the USX FIT® meets the design requirements for new construction, thanks to its compact size and large capacity.
Developed to capitalize on the compactization of air-cooled heat pumps, the USX FIT® promotes energy efficiency in heat source conversions and refurbishments. The innovative product leverages a high-capacity rotary compressor with excellent partial-load characteristics, balancing compact design with high operational efficiency. The USX FIT® contributes to the transition from fossil fuels to cleaner heat sources and complies with elevated energy standards for non-residential buildings, aligning with the energy conservation laws in Japan.
Moreover, the USX FIT® is designed to respond to external demand response commands, enhancing energy management capabilities. Its recognition at the awards ceremony confirms its effectiveness and efficiency in energy utilization.
Toru Kubo, President of Japan Carrier, expressed his pride regarding the award, stating, "The air-cooled modular chiller is a product line we have developed ourselves while exploring the market. Following advancements in inverter technology, we have dramatically improved energy efficiency, earning significant customer loyalty and establishing a leading position in today’s market. This award brings us immense joy, and we are motivated to consistently exceed customer expectations with our products going forward."
During the award ceremony, Yu Saito, Head of Sales Division, received a certificate and trophy from Takuya Kimura, Director of the Energy Efficiency Division, ensuring that Japan Carrier will continue to innovate and lead in the field of energy-efficient products.
