Superior HealthPlan Celebrates 25 Years with a $25,000 Grant to NAMI El Paso

Austin, Texas – December 16, 2024 – In a remarkable celebration of its 25-year legacy, Superior HealthPlan, a prominent managed care organization in Texas under Centene Corporation, has awarded a generous $25,000 grant to NAMI El Paso. This funding will significantly bolster mental health initiatives aimed at children and youth in the community, a cause close to the heart of both organizations.

Since its inception in 1999, Superior HealthPlan has dedicated itself to providing essential healthcare services to Texans in need. Mark Sanders, the company's president and CEO, highlighted the significance of the grant during this milestone celebration, emphasizing their commitment to making a positive impact on local communities. This special Anniversary Grant Award was the first of its kind, enabling community organizations and schools statewide to submit applications for funding. From a pool of applicants, an internal committee shortlisted ten finalists, with the winning organization ultimately selected by the employees.

These 50-minute sessions are designed for middle and high school students, featuring engaging content such as brief presentations, videos, and personal testimonials from young adults highlighting their mental health journeys.

The Superior HealthPlan Anniversary Grant is not a one-time event. This initiative complements the ongoing annual grant programs, where organizations are encouraged to apply for $10,000 grants, which will be awarded in April 2025.
