AM General Showcases JLTV A2 at IDEX 2025

Production Begins for Next-Gen Tactical Vehicle

In a significant development for military mobility solutions, AM General, a renowned manufacturer of tactical military vehicles, has announced its participation at the International Defense Exhibition (IDEX) 2025, taking place from February 17-21, 2025, in Abu Dhabi, UAE. During this prestigious event, the company will unveil its latest innovation, the Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV) A2, at Booth #02B-08 in Hall 2, U.S. Pavilion. This comes as the production of the JLTV A2 has officially commenced at a newly built, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility within a remarkably short timeframe of just under two years.

John Chadbourne, Chief Business Development Officer at AM General, emphasized the importance of IDEX as a premier military exhibition. It provides a unique platform for the company to engage with global customers and address their evolving needs in support of the Warfighter. He stated, "This year, we are proud to display the first AM General-built JLTV A2 asset so our customers can see, first-hand, the myriad improvements we've made to the platform."

The JLTV A2 is a testament to AM General's dedication to continuous innovation in the defense sector. Collaborating closely with the US Army, the company plans to implement over 250 engineering changes to significantly enhance the vehicle's performance. Notable improvements include better corrosion control, a refined powertrain, reduced noise levels, and enhanced fuel efficiency. Furthermore, the vehicle will showcase its combat versatility and lethality with the integration of the Hornet Air Guard Remote Controlled Weapon System (RCWS), which features Counter-UAS technology. This innovative system provides capabilities for anti-drone detection and neutralization while supporting surveillance, fire, and self-protection through air-burst ammunition.

The production line for the JLTV A2 is actively operational, with the first deliveries scheduled to begin in the second quarter of 2025. AM General's associates will be available at IDEX to discuss international procurement options for the vehicle, utilizing the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) process. They will also support existing A0 and A1 fleets to ensure they meet the rigorous demands of modern military operations.

AM General's capabilities in engineering, manufacturing, and supporting specialized military vehicles position it as a leader in the industry. With a diverse portfolio that includes iconic vehicles like the HUMVEE and innovative products like the next-generation HUMVEE Saber light tactical truck, AM General remains committed to enhancing interoperability among allied forces and continues to strengthen its longstanding partnerships within the defense industry.
