Katsushika Ward Launches Two New Donation Projects

The Katsushika Ward in Tokyo, alongside the hometown tax portal site "Satofull," operated by the Satofull Corporation, has announced the commencement of donation acceptance for two projects starting June 2, 2025, through its "Satofull Crowdfunding" initiative. This year marks the third round of fundraising for their initiatives utilizing green slow mobility, which commenced in 2023.

The "Satofull Crowdfunding" platform leverages the hometown tax donation system, allowing municipalities to establish projects that require funding while appealing to the community for donations. Donors can choose specific projects based on their intended use of the funds and can also post supportive messages to the municipalities or monitor the accumulated donation amounts in real-time.

Project Details

1. Supporting Joyful Outings with Green Slow Mobility

From the Katsushika Ward:
>This initiative aims to secure transportation within the community using green slow mobility (vehicles that can operate on public roads at speeds under 20 km/h), fostering collaboration between local government and residents. We hope that this project will enhance communication within the community and invigorate our area. Many thanks for your support! Donors will receive a special illustration sticker featuring green slow mobility as a token of appreciation, sent along with a thank-you letter.

2. The Sakura Project in Shibamata: A Place Where the Voices of Home Resound

  • - Goal Amount: 1,200,000 yen
  • - Donation Period: June 2, 2025 – January 5, 2026
  • - Project URL: Sakura Project

From the Katsushika Ward:
>Shibamata has cultivated its cultural landscape throughout various historical layers. We believe that this project, which will transform the loved restaurant "Kawajin" into a park, will turn a new page in Shibamata's history and connect treasured memories for everyone. Donors contributing 50,000 yen or more will have their names inscribed on a nameplate at the cherry blossom site as supporters.
