DISA Technologies has announced the formation of DISA Uranium Corporation, an innovative platform aimed at addressing uranium recovery and production within the United States. This new venture marks a significant step forward in efforts to remediate the nation’s legacy uranium sites while establishing a sustainable domestic uranium resource.

Exclusive Licensing and Resource Acquisition



DISA Uranium is distinct in holding the only license from the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) that permits the remediation and recovery of abandoned uranium mine waste across various sites. This operational capability aligns with the company's strategic goal to rebuild a secure U.S. fuel supply. Additionally, DISA Uranium has secured a deal to acquire a conventional resource base from IsoEnergy Ltd., centered in Utah. This resource portfolio includes formerly productive uranium mines such as the Tony M Mine, Daneros Mine, and Rim Mine, ensuring a robust foundation for future operations.

Greyson Buckingham, CEO of DISA Uranium, emphasized that this company intends to reshape the landscape of U.S. uranium production by not only focusing on recovery but also by tackling the environmental challenges posed by abandoned mining sites. He stated, "Our first priority is to clean up the thousands of abandoned uranium mines scattered across the West. This initiative positions us to recover valuable uranium and vanadium contained in the waste, creating a responsible pathway for revitalizing American resource production."

Technological Advancements and Environmental Responsibility



Central to DISA Uranium's operations is their proprietary High-Pressure Slurry Ablation Technology (HPSA™), designed to enhance the efficiency of uranium production. This patented technology significantly reduces the volume of ore that must be transported and processed. Preliminary tests at the Tony M Mine have indicated a potential to decrease feedstock mass to approximately 22% of its original size, while achieving an impressive recovery rate of 88% for uranium, ultimately leading to lower costs and a smaller environmental footprint.

As part of its ethos, DISA Uranium prioritizes the remediation of Abandoned Uranium Mines (AUMs). These sites pose both environmental hazards and represent untapped resources within the western United States. The company’s strategic approach aims to deliver meaningful environmental benefits while also harnessing the economic potential of these sites.

A Vision for Domestic Processing Infrastructure



Another critical aspect of DISA Uranium's vision is the establishment of advanced recovery and processing facilities capable of producing U3O8. This move would represent the first new uranium recovery and processing plant in the U.S. in over forty years. The facility development is still in its design phase, but there are plans to evaluate potential sites for its construction. This new processing capacity is essential for completing the domestic uranium fuel cycle and reducing reliance on foreign uranium imports.

Financial Backing and Strategic Growth



In conjunction with the formation of DISA Uranium, the company has announced a $105 million private placement financing. This funding has been committed by renowned mining, energy, and technology investors, ensuring solid financial backing as DISA Uranium embarks on its growth trajectory. The financing will support remediation programs, conventional mine development, and the establishment of domestic processing capabilities.

IsoEnergy Ltd., which will hold a 33% stake in DISA Uranium following the acquisition agreement, views this partnership as a crucial step towards enhancing uranium production efficiencies and unlocking value within the U.S. market. Their CEO noted the strategic alignment of their interests with DISA's innovative technology.
