ATOMica Partners with Major Corporations for Innovative Development in Tamachi Area

ATOMica Collaborates on Tamachi Station Development Project

In an exciting move to bolster innovation, ATOMica, a pioneering social coworking startup based in Miyazaki, engages in the 'Tamachi Station West Exit Development Project.' This initiative is backed by major players such as Mitsui Fudosan, Morinaga Milk Industry, and East Japan Railway Company (JR East). The aim is to create a thriving innovative ecosystem in the Tamachi and Mita areas through a planned industry support facility located on the fourth floor of a newly constructed mixed-use building.

ATOMica is recognized for its successful venue creation across over 50 locations nationwide, providing an environment conducive to connecting companies and addressing social challenges. The partnership with these renowned companies paves the way for the establishment of a facility that nurtures startups focused on solving social issues, thereby generating a new cycle of interactions and co-creation in the city.

Project Overview

The Tamachi development project centers around the site of the former Morinaga Plaza Building, encompassing approximately 0.6 hectares with a total floor area of 98,000 square meters. The facility, planned for the fourth floor, will serve as a nurturing ground for startups, complementing offices and commercial facilities within the larger complex. ATOMica, having previously collaborated as a development partner, has now been appointed as the operational partner for this facility.

This unique collaboration will allow ATOMica to work alongside Mitsui Fudosan, an industry developer specializing in urban planning, to cultivate an environment that supports local challenges and innovations. The synergy between the two companies is set to foster a more engaged community, enhancing the region's potential for startup development.

Leveraging Experience and Resources

ATOMica's experience includes designing and operating various incubation facilities in redeveloped areas, like the Urban Net Sendai and Yokohama Symfo Stage. By utilizing this expertise, ATOMica aims to facilitate the planning and operation of the new facility, ensuring it meets the needs of the community and its entrepreneurs. The company has successfully raised over 2 billion yen in funding, showcasing its capability in both providing and receiving support in the startup landscape.

ATOMica is committed to understanding the aspirations and challenges of businesses within the area. By offering opportunities for interaction among local enterprises and fostering connections with nearby incubation centers, the company strives to enhance innovation in the broader Tamachi-Mita region.

A Statement from ATOMica's Co-CEO

Kazuaki Minahara, Co-CEO of ATOMica, expressed enthusiasm about the project, stating, "This initiative is a culmination of our efforts across more than 50 facilities in Japan, creating diverse coworking and incubation spaces. The Tamachi-Mita area is rich in mega-ventures and startups, alongside prestigious research institutions like Tokyo University of Science.
