Explore Sacred Art and Affordable Burial Options at Catholic Cemeteries' Open Houses

Discover Catholic Cemeteries' Fall Open House

As we navigate through the challenges of life, the question of how we wish to be remembered becomes paramount. The Catholic Cemeteries of the Archdiocese of Newark invite families to reflect on this essential aspect of life during their upcoming open house events scheduled throughout various counties in New Jersey, including Essex, Union, Bergen, Hudson, and Middlesex. These events aim to empower individuals with the knowledge and confidence to make informed decisions regarding their loved ones' legacies, thereby alleviating the stress that often accompanies last-minute burial decisions.

Join us at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery and Mausoleum on Saturday, September 13, and Sunday, September 14, for an exclusive opportunity to tour this beautiful property adorned with breathtaking marble crypts and glass cremation niches. During the weekend, visitors can admire a stunning two-story mosaic depicting the Resurrected Christ, as well as a newly unveiled 20-foot Rondanini Pietà statue, serving as a timeless symbol of faith and eternal life.

Beyond simply providing information about burial options, Catholic Cemeteries recognizes the importance of affordability. During the open house weekend, participants can take advantage of a remarkable offer: 0% financing for 48 months, allowing families to plan for a dignified resting place without the burden of immediate financial strain. This financing opportunity is available exclusively during the open house weekend, ending September 15, 2025.

The new Chapel Mausoleum of the Resurrection invites visitors to experience art and spirituality combined, showcasing elegant marble crypts, cremation niches, and sacred artworks, including a dynamic two-story mosaic of Christ rising from the tomb. Designed by Mellini Art and Glass Mosaics of Florence, Italy, this vibrant piece is easily visible upon entering the new Resurrection Mausoleum Chapel.

Moreover, families can also find a life-sized statue of Saint Padre Pio at the entrance of this mausoleum, along with fourteen life-like statues of the Stations of the Cross, which have been meticulously restored from St. Peter's Church in Newark. These art pieces not only enhance the sacred atmosphere of the mausoleum but provide a serene setting for prayer and remembrance.

For many families, choosing cremation has become an increasingly popular option. Catholic Cemeteries emphasizes the significance of entrusting cremated remains to a chapel, mausoleum, or cemetery, providing a sacred space for current and future generations to remember and honor their loved ones. This sentiment is echoed through their various offerings which can ensure a respectful and meaningful final resting place.
