Celebrating Excellence at the 5th Japan Service Awards
On December 9, the Japan Productivity Center's Service Industry Productivity Council, led by Chairman Yoshimitsu Kobayashi, announced the winners of the 5th Japan Service Awards. These awards honor exceptional services that exemplify innovation across various sectors, showcasing a total of 33 awardees from 13 prefectures.
Highlighting the Prime Minister's Award
Among the illustrious winners, the Prime Minister's Award was garnered by NAVITIME Japan for their app 'Japan Travel'. Designed specifically for inbound tourists, this comprehensive navigation application simplifies travel in Japan by consolidating features such as tourist information, trip planning, bookings, route searches, and travel experience sharing. The app supports 13 languages and serves approximately 2 million unique users monthly, representing about 50% of all foreign tourists visiting Japan.
Japan Travel by NAVITIME effectively connects with all public transportation systems in the country, including trains, planes, buses, and ferries, providing detailed scheduling information. Furthermore, this service actively contributes to regional revitalization by analyzing travel data to unearth local attractions.

This year, participation soared with 768 applications from a myriad of industries, surpassing the previous count of 762 in 2019 and 749 in 2021. Awarded services addressed contemporary issues such as parenting in a declining population, healthcare, the future of work, and disaster preparedness.
