Echo's Innovative Funding Round Boosts AI-Driven Security Solutions for Software Infrastructure
Echo Secures $15 Million to Redefine Software Security
In a significant move within the tech industry, Echo, an innovative startup known for creating advanced software infrastructure, has successfully raised $15 million in Seed funding. This investment round was spearheaded by Notable Capital and Hyperwise Ventures, with additional backing from SVCI. The funding will empower Echo to further develop its mission of eliminating vulnerabilities from application infrastructures through the use of AI technology.
With the rapid development of software and increasing digital threats, security vulnerabilities are rising significantly. Reports indicate that 2025 has witnessed a whopping 34% increase in the exploitation of vulnerabilities, correlating with a stunning 61% rise in newly discovered software vulnerabilities year-over-year. By harnessing the power of AI, Echo aims to create container base images devoid of vulnerabilities, fundamentally changing how applications are constructed.
The innovative solution developed by Echo is engineered by AI agents that carry out every critical task, from analyzing essential components of open-source images to crafting a clean version from the ground up. Most crucially, these images are continuously updated to patch any newly discovered vulnerabilities. The outcome is a clean, functional image that dramatically reduces the attack surface while maintaining the original functionality of the application.
Eilon Elhadad, the co-founder and CEO of Echo, remarked on the necessity of their endeavor, stating, “Echo was born out of a broken system. Today’s tools merely chase and prioritize vulnerabilities instead of addressing the root cause. Our clean images enable companies to construct secure infrastructures, and our AI agents ensure this safety is maintained.” The quick turnaround offered by Echo is indeed revolutionary—reducing remediation timetables from an industry average of 120 days to an astonishing 24 hours, thus significantly enhancing operational efficiency for its clients.
The lucrative $17 billion vulnerability management industry stands to benefit immensely from Echo's solutions. Oren Yunger, Managing Partner at Notable Capital, emphasized, “By providing a secure-by-design infrastructure, Echo could unlock billions annually, preventing potential breaches and fostering downstream cost savings.” Nathan Shuchman, Managing Partner at Hyperwise Ventures, lauded Echo’s offering as a means for businesses to operate without the burden of constantly managing vulnerabilities.
Beyond its incredible potential for enhanced security, Echo's infrastructure also eases the pathway to FedRAMP compliance for cloud-based companies aiming for contracts with the U.S. Federal Government. Their ready-to-deploy, FIPS-validated images eliminate the need for clients to adopt non-standard operating software, thus ensuring that implementation runs smoothly.
Scott Roberts, CISO of UiPath, commented on the profound impact of Echo's container base images: “The vulnerability-free container base images have immediately eased our patching workload, saving us significant time and money.”
Founded by Elhadad and Eylam Milner, who previously co-created Argon (subsequently acquired by Aqua Security), Echo continues to redefine what secure infrastructure entails from the ground up. With this new funding, Echo is poised to accelerate its growth trajectory and solidify its position as a leader in the AI-driven security landscape.
