Online Talk Session with Young Palestinian Leaders

NPO Accept International, a Tokyo-based NGO dedicated to conflict resolution and peacebuilding, will host a pivotal online dialogue session on December 14, featuring young leaders from Palestine. This event aims to highlight the voices of the next generation, who assert, "We are not just victims."

In the wake of the escalated conflict that began on October 7, 2023, Accept International has been actively providing emergency humanitarian aid in the Gaza Strip. The online session represents a significant opportunity to hear directly from these young Palestinian leaders, who have been selected from various political parties and civil society organizations, united in their efforts to foster dialogue and discover new ways to achieve peace.

Since 2025, when members from Palestine were invited to Japan, including Hiroshima, these young leaders have reflected on Japan's own journey towards becoming a peace-oriented nation. Through their experiences, they have attempted to bridge political divides and geographical barriers. Their efforts culminated in the adoption of the "Tokyo Declaration," emphasizing their commitment to peace and understanding.

Background on Previous Initiatives

The July online dialogue session resulted in over 100 participants registering on the first day, despite challenges that arose, such as technical issues in the region. This success illustrates the strong interest and engagement from the international community in the voices of young people in conflict zones.

The December 14 event marks the first live session streamed from Gaza, making it a historic occasion. Participants will have the chance to hear about the daily challenges faced by Palestinians and their aspirations for peace and coexistence. This is not just an opportunity for ambassadors of Accept International, but for the general public to engage in meaningful dialogue and to learn about the youthful perspective on the peace process—a voice often overlooked by older political leaders.
