BEYOND SWEETS, a pioneer in gluten-free and refined sugar-free pastries, is set to transform the dessert experience in Tokyo with its innovative project titled "Sweets x Art." Launched on September 1, this unique initiative aims to merge the beauty of art with the pleasure of enjoying gluten-free sweets, creating a cultural hub for creativity and indulgence.

A New Art Gallery Experience

The "Sweets × Art Project" repurposes a section of BEYOND SWEETS into an art gallery, allowing visitors to enjoy art while savoring their favorite gluten-free treats. The gallery will feature the work of rising star, calligrapher Ryo Uchiyama, throughout September. Uchiyama's art, which beautifully blends calligraphy with motion, will be on display until September 30, providing guests with an opportunity to interact with and even purchase pieces directly from the gallery. This initiative not only showcases Uchiyama's talent but also aims to introduce spectators to various emerging artists in future exhibitions.

Meet the Artist: Ryo Uchiyama

Born in Fukuoka, Ryo Uchiyama began his journey into the world of calligraphy at the tender age of seven. His inherent talent saw him bagging the Governor's Award in Fukuoka by the age of ten. Uchiyama's remarkable accolades include multiple awards at nationwide calligraphy competitions during and after high school, with his talent having received considerable media attention from outlets like Asahi Shimbun and Yomiuri Shimbun. Nowadays, he provides a range of services from individual and corporate design projects to performances, further expanding his influence into fashion design.

New Menu Item: Gluten-Free Mini Afternoon Tea

In celebration of the "Sweets × Art Project," BEYOND SWEETS is also introducing a special Gluten-Free Mini Afternoon Tea experience starting from launch date. Designed for one, this delightful offering invites patrons to unwind and savor exquisite flavors while enjoying art. The menu includes:

- Turnip Blancmange
- Potato Croquettes
- Pumpkin Sable Sandwich
- Mushroom Mousse
- Banana and Chocolate Sandwich
- Purple Yam Sweet Potato
- Seasonal Cream Puff

Each tea set is complemented with free-flowing beverages such as coffee, tea, herbal tea, or fresh herb drinks. Priced at 4,400 yen (tax included), the Mini Afternoon Tea is available starting September 1, with prior reservation required.

To mark the beginning of the “Sweets × Art Project,” two special events featuring Ryo Uchiyama have been organized:

1. Art Viewing and Mini Afternoon Tea Tasting Event

- Details: A reception party with tasting of select Mini Afternoon Tea items. Participation is free, but limited.

2. Enjoy Sweets and Art with Ryo Uchiyama

- Details: An interactive session featuring desserts inspired by Uchiyama's artwork. Limited edition desserts like the Black Rare Cheese Tart & Drink Set (1,200 yen, tax included) will also be available, and participation remains free with dessert purchase.
