Experience the Joy of STEAM: Interactive Storytelling and Inquiry Activities in Kunitachi City

Discover the World of STEAM Education

In an era where knowledge in various fields is more important than ever, STEAM JAPAN is making strides in promoting STEAM education—an integrated approach that combines Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics. This initiative emphasizes the interconnectedness of these domains, aiming to cultivate curiosity and innovation among children through engaging programs.

In Kunitachi City, at the Yagawa Plus facility, we are excited to announce a free eight-session program titled "Reading, Creating, and Testing: STEAM Storytime and Inquiry Activities." This initiative is designed to immerse children in the world of literature and inquiry-based learning, using picture books and encyclopedias as springboards for exploration.

Program Objectives

The primary goal of this program is to bridge the gap between literature and exploratory activities. By encouraging children to ask questions like, "How does this work?", we aim to transform their curiosity into practical experiences through simple experiments and creative projects. The cycle of learning—"to know (inquire)" and "to create (innovate)"—is crucial in helping children develop problem-solving skills essential for a future where artificial intelligence and technology are pervasive.

Program Details

  • - Total Sessions: 8
  • - Format: Each session will have a different theme, allowing participants the flexibility to enroll in just one session or attend all eight.
  • - Materials: All materials will be provided by the organizers, and participants can take home their creations.
  • - Rain or Shine: The program will run regardless of weather conditions, and any changes will be communicated to parents via email.
