Covation Biomaterials Unveils Innovations for CovationBio® bioPTMEG at K-Show 2025

Covation Biomaterials Highlighting Innovations at K-Show 2025

Covation Biomaterials LLC, known for its cutting-edge developments in the bio-based materials sector, is gearing up to spotlight its latest product, CovationBio® bioPTMEG, at the renowned K-Show 2025 in Düsseldorf, Germany. This event serves as a global platform for advancements in plastics and rubber, and CovationBio is thrilled to announce significant milestones surrounding this groundbreaking product.

Initially revealed at the ChinaPlas exhibition in April 2025, CovationBio® bioPTMEG is a pioneering polytetramethylene ether glycol (PTMEG) designed with sustainability at its core. Unlike conventional fossil-based PTMEG, CovationBio® bioPTMEG aims to provide high performance while significantly reducing production emissions.

Feifeng You, President of CovationBio, stated, "Through our ongoing collaboration with customers, we are reaching crucial milestones on our journey towards making bioPTMEG commercially viable. This product redefines the potential of biobased materials, ensuring peak performance with a minimal ecological impact."

This innovative bio-based alternative not only helps manufacturers transition away from fossil fuels but also adheres to high standards of durability and resilience vital for applications such as spandex, polyurethanes, and thermoplastic elastomers. Among the notable advantages of CovationBio® bioPTMEG include:

  • - A remarkable reduction in greenhouse gas emissions compared to traditional materials.
  • - The product is entirely bio-based, sourced from renewable resources that regenerate annually.
  • - Feedstocks like corncobs are utilized, ensuring no competition with essential food production.
  • - A lowered dependency on finite fossil fuel supplies.
  • - Seamless integration into existing processes, enabling manufacturers to switch to bio-based materials without requiring significant operational changes.

Additionally, Covation Biomaterials is in the process of constructing a dedicated facility for the manufacturing of CovationBio® bioPTMEG, anticipated to be ready by late 2025 in Qidong, Jiangsu Province. Production is projected to commence in the first half of 2026.

At the K Show, aligned with the theme "The Power of Plastics! Green – Smart – Responsible," attendees are invited to visit Covation Biomaterials in Hall 5, Booth C07-1. The team is eager to share how CovationBio® bioPTMEG can further sustainability efforts in high-performance materials, including TPU, PU, COPE, COPA, and spandex.

Furthermore, Dr. Mosha Zhao, the Global Marketing Director for the C4 Platform, and Dr. Dan Slanac, Global Technology Director at CovationBio, are scheduled to present insights into this innovation journey at the Bioplastics Business Breakfast Days Conference on October 10th, 2025. They will discuss the transition from non-food bio-based feedstock to renewable raw materials and demonstrate how to effectively reduce carbon footprints in production processes.
