Donate Unwanted Items for Vaccines: A Campaign to Save Children's Lives

Transform Unwanted Goods into Lifesaving Support

As we welcome a new season, many find themselves decluttering their homes due to moving or spring cleaning. During this process, unwanted items such as books, CDs, and DVDs often accumulate, leaving us with the dilemma of what to do with them. Many feel guilty about throwing these items away, yet storing them can be impractical. The good news is that there's a solution that not only helps you clear space but also makes a significant impact on children’s lives in developing countries.

In collaboration with the certified non-profit organization Japan Committee for Vaccines for Children (JCV), Book Off Corporation is excited to launch the "Kimochi to. Recycling Support Campaign" from April 9 to May 8. This initiative allows you to send in your unwanted items for free shipping and handling and, in return, you'll help provide essential vaccines to children in need.

Campaign Overview: Supporting Global Vaccination Efforts

Through the Kimochi to. recycling program, individuals and companies alike can join forces to combat vaccine-preventable diseases. By simply enrolling in the campaign and sending eligible items to Book Off's collection service, you can turn your clutter into lifesaving support. The money earned from your donated items will go directly to aiding vaccination efforts for diseases like polio and tetanus, safeguarding the health of many children.

How It Works

1. Select Your Items: The campaign accepts over 30 categories of items for donation, including books, CDs, DVDs, video games, accessories, instruments, and electronics.
2. Sign Up: Register for the campaign online. You’ll need to select the program and specify the items you want to send.
3. Free Pickup: Upon completion of your registration, Book Off will schedule a pickup at your convenience, all free of charge.
4. Impactful Contribution: The proceeds from the collected items will be allocated to vaccine distribution for children in developing nations, while the items themselves will also be reused to benefit individuals in need.

Why Vaccination Matters

Every day, approximately 4,000 children lose their lives to vaccine-preventable diseases like polio and tuberculosis in developing countries. This stark reality resonates with the mission of JCV, which has been delivering vaccines worldwide since its establishment in 1994. Just a small contribution can make a remarkable difference — many vaccines cost less than a dollar.

JCV has collaborated with UNICEF and various health ministries, reaching over 140 million children with vital immunizations. This year’s campaign aims to send vaccines worth over 117 million yen to four countries, helping to secure lives and futures.

Join the Movement: Make a Difference Today

As we begin this new academic year full of possibilities, now is the perfect time to take part in a cause that embodies both environmental conservation and humanitarian aid. By donating your unwanted items, not only can you clear out your living space, but you also contribute to a cause that saves lives.

For all details on how to participate in the campaign, visit JCV's website for further instruction and confirmation of donation guidelines. Every small effort counts, and together, we can provide crucial vaccines to children who desperately need them.

Help us spread awareness, and turn your decluttering into a powerful gift of life for those in need. We look forward to seeing your active participation!
