First Automation Joins New Innovations Group
In a significant move for the manufacturing sector, First Automation, headquartered in Nagoya, has announced its transition to a group company under New Innovations, based in Koto, Tokyo, effective December 24, 2025. This strategic partnership aims to integrate their specialized technologies to bolster efficiency and innovation in manufacturing operations.
Background and Objectives
First Automation has established itself in the industry with its AI solution, SPESILL, designed to automate the creation of technical documents and leverage RAG (retrieval augmented generation) technology for internal knowledge utilization. This has been key in enhancing task efficiency within design and production environments.
On the other hand, New Innovations harnesses advanced AI and robotics to manage technical drawings through their system known as “Drawing Bank.” This collaboration marks a crucial step in blending the strengths of both companies—First Automation’s generative AI and document analysis capabilities with New Innovations’ expertise in drawing analysis and management.
The goal here is to develop a comprehensive platform for digital transformation within the manufacturing sector. By merging the accumulated drawing assets in the Drawing Bank with SPESILL’s document generation technology, the companies plan to create an automated framework for generating estimates, specifications, and manufacturing processes.
Comments from First Automation's CEO
Masaya Ito, the CEO of First Automation, expressed his commitment to addressing critical challenges facing Japan’s manufacturing industry, such as labor shortages and the transfer of technical knowledge. He emphasized the synergy between First Automation and New Innovations, stating, “I am convinced that our visions align perfectly and together, we can achieve a world where manufacturing professionals can focus on their creative tasks more efficiently.”
Ito reaffirmed that the integration of both companies' expertise would pave the way for a swift transition into a higher productivity environment for manufacturers.
