On July 8, 2026, Unseenlabs, a prominent player in space-based radio frequency (RF) detection, announced the launch of its second generation of satellites designed to enhance multi-domain awareness capabilities. This significant advancement marks a shift from previous focused operations to a broader scope that includes maritime, land, and space monitoring.

The first satellite of this new generation, named BRO-31, was successfully deployed with the assistance of Exolaunch, a German integration firm. It launched aboard SpaceX's Falcon 9 rocket, part of the Transporter-17 mission from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California. The introduction of this satellite comes after nearly a decade of operational learnings and innovations from Unseenlabs, transitioning from smaller nanosatellites weighing around 15 kg to larger microsatellites weighing approximately 150 kg.

The Gen 2 satellites enable the detection of a wider range of frequencies including L, S, C, X, and Ku-bands.
