SHOGEN's Latest Art Exhibition: Living for Whom? - Hawaii Edition - in 2026

Experience SHOGEN's New Art Exhibition in 2026

NPO Hummingbird, located in Shibuya, Tokyo, is set to launch SHOGEN's latest solo exhibition titled "Living for Whom? - Hawaii Edition -" from February 2 to February 11, 2026. This marks the third installment of a series that began with a focus on Africa, which captivated numerous visitors in 2024 and 2025.

The previous exhibitions centered around the profound question of purpose, resonating deeply with the audience. The theme "Living for Whom?" was not only an artistic endeavor but also a powerful message that touched many hearts. This new exhibition will shift its focus to Hawaii, revealing SHOGEN's latest creations based on his experiences and encounters in the islands.

The exhibition will feature new artworks that reflect on the connection between nature and humanity, a central theme inspired by the Hawaiian philosophy of "Mana." This cultural concept emphasizes the value found in nature, signifying the powers and essence imbued within mountains, seas, winds, and plants as seen through the eyes of the Hawaiian people.

As SHOGEN immersed himself in the Hawaiian environment, he gained fresh insights that he has translated into his art. The latest works differ from his African pieces, aiming to communicate themes of kindness, love, and unity with the natural world.
