Woofstock Dog Festival Returns for Its 33rd Year
The beloved tradition of the Woofstock Dog Festival is making a highly anticipated return on Sunday, September 20, 2026. The festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the picturesque Cleveland Metroparks Polo Field. Over the past decade, Woofstock has transformed into one of Northeast Ohio's treasured gatherings, drawing thousands of attendees who share a passion for animal welfare and community engagement.
A Celebrated Tradition
With an impressive four-time win of the
Cleveland Magazine's Best of the East award for the
Best East Side Fundraiser, Woofstock has matured into a landmark event. In the past two years, it has managed to attract around
10,000 attendees, demonstrating the deep-rooted support within the community.
This year's festival is off to a great start, with sponsors already contributing
$149,000 to facilitate the event while supporting
Rescue Village and its ongoing mission to rescue and rehabilitate homeless animals. Kenneth Clarke, the Executive Director of Rescue Village, emphasizes the event's dual purpose: providing a fun and engaging day for pet owners while simultaneously raising crucial funds for animal welfare efforts.
Activities and Attractions
Woofstock is not just about numbers; it’s about community and joy. Participants eagerly look forward to familiar attractions such as dog games, lure courses, a dog costume contest, and a variety of food trucks offering delicious cuisines. Families will also have the opportunity to enjoy live music, browse vendor stalls, and partake in children’s activities. The spirit of the event is best captured in moments spent watching thousands of dogs enthusiastically interacting with their owners and each other.
One highlight of the event is the annual dog costume contest, a crowd favorite that captures hearts and leads to the most shared photos on social media. Additionally, this year’s festival will proudly feature
Norman, a lucky dog who earned the title of
Alpha Dog. Norman will be showcased in the festival's promotional materials thanks to a winning bid placed by his owner, Brian Greene, during the organization’s annual gala.
Supporting a Worthy Cause
The impact of Woofstock exceeds beyond bringing joy to pets and their owners. It plays an integral role in raising funds for Rescue Village, which has dedicated over
50 years to saving and safeguarding homeless animals. The organization continually works to provide essential services such as medical care, shelter, and adoption for animals in need. Participants at Woofstock directly contribute to these efforts, making their attendance all the more meaningful.
